Representatives of IRIFIU Participated in “Second Regional Workshop on “International and Regional Cooperation to Combat Cybercrime”

Representatives of Islamic Republic of Iran Financial Intelligence Unit (IRIFIU) participated in a two-day workshop entitled “International and Regional Cooperation to Combat Cybercrime” on 9-10 September in Tehran-Iran. This workshop was co-organized by IRI Interpol, the United Nation Office on Drug and Crime (UNODC) and office of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tehran.
Some experts from headquarter of UNODC, Interior Ministry of Austria and Financial Intelligence of Poland gave lectures on the latest achievements in the field of cybercrimes in this two-day event. Dark net, Deep Web, virtual currencies and use of them for criminal purposes such as drug sales, how apply AML/CFT measures to illicit financial flows from cybercrime, criminalizing of cybercrime in regional countries and use of new technologies for illicit financial flows were some of the prominent topics discussed in this workshop.
It should be noted that representative of IRIFIU made a speech on operational measures for promoting cooperation in the field of cybercrimes in FIU.
